Our parents started in clothing retail, and by around 2015, Taren and Tara were pressing T-shirts with a heat press and transfers.
Along the way, Taren and Tara started Make Moves, a fitness and lifestyle clothing brand with a clear idea of what it should be. Quality was at the centre of it: clothing that felt good from the first touch, held up over time and left an impression.
Finding a printing partner who shared that vision proved harder than expected. We tried different suppliers, but struggled to find the quality and consistency we were looking for. Talking with other brand owners, we heard the same frustration. People wanted a straightforward way to order merchandise, and confidence that it would turn out right, every time.
So we decided to build the kind of print shop we’d been looking for.
We started learning, researching and investing. We moved out of the garage into a storage unit, and within the year we had our first Brother DTG printer. We were one of the first in Ontario to get the Brother GTX. Then came years of testing, experimenting and learning what it takes to make a print we’re proud to hand over.
Our website launched in 2020. As more small businesses and brands gave us a try, the business grew. Today, we work from a 4,000-square-foot shop, and the reason behind it is the same: you should feel confident putting your name on what we print.
